About Us
The Organization for Restoring Ecosystems and Livelihoods (ORECOLIVE) is a Community-Based Organization (CBO) in Kenya, that focuses on projects and activities that restore ecosystems and livelihoods to contribute to sustainable development goals by engaging in community projects on environment and natural resource management, climate change, education, agriculture, renewable energy, disaster response, capacity building, development, and community empowerment.
Mission: We enhance the livelihoods of communities by increasing their adaptive capacity to climate change and global environmental change through sustainable agriculture, land restoration initiatives and capacity building.
Vision: Our vision is thriving ecosystems where communities coexist harmoniously with nature, sustainably benefiting from them to enhance their livelihoods and achievement of SDGs.

How We Create Change

Establishing nurseries with native species, fruit, and fodder trees. Promoting climate-smart agriculture techniques like alley cropping.

Clearing invasive species like Prosopis juliflora (Mathenge). Reviving grazing lands and farmlands for sustainable use.

Educating farmers on Sustainable Land Management (SLM). Providing skills in alternative livelihoods.

Enhancing carbon sequestration through reforestation. Strengthening resilience against droughts and climate shocks
